Facebook terus menambah fitur baru untuk menjawab tantangan dari para penyedia layanan jejaring sosial lainnya. Selain fitur Subscribe yang mirip follow pada Twitter, Facebook baru-baru ini juga memaksimalkan fitur List untuk mematahkan Ciccle yang menjadi kekuatan Google+.

List adalah fitur pengelompokan teman di Facebook dan pembatasan siapa saja yang bisa melihat sebuah status kita. Fitur ini sebenarnya sudah ada sebelum Google+ diluncurkan. Cuma cara Facebook mengelompokkan kalah menarik dengan cara Google menampilkan Circle walaupun dengan fungsi yang sama.

Sebelumnya fitur ini terkesna tersembunyi di bawah setiap status yang akan dibuat di Facebook. Akan ada pilihan, kelompok siapa saja yang bisa melihat status tersebut apakah semua orang atau teman-teman saja termasuk pengecualian siapa yang tidak bisa melihatnya.

Namun, sekarang pengelompokan tersebut sudah dilakukan sejak awal. Ketika akan menambah teman di Facebook, akan ditanyakan ke List manakah teman baru tersebut. Setiap orang bisa menambah sendiri nama List yang diinginkan. Untuk daftar teman-teman yang sudah ada, di tombol Friend juga terdapat pilihan untuk memasukkan masing-masing ke daftar List berdasarkan informasi profil.

Memang ada perbedaan secara konsep penambahan teman di Google+ karena lebih mirip follower dan user ketimbang Facebook yang hanya bisa 2 arah ketika request teman sudah diterima. Google+ digadang menjadi pesaing berat Facebook tetapi Google malah membiarkan perkembangan yang lambat di Google+ sehingga Facebook punya banyak waktu mengintip celah keunggulan Google+.

ZTE Keluarkan Ponsel 4G di 2012

ZTE, pembesut handset nomor lima di dunia, berencana meluncurkan ponsel berkemampuan 4G pada kuartal kedua di 2012. Vendor asal China ini ingin meraih pangsa pasar yang lebih besar dengan memperluas daya jangka produknya.

Disebutkan Ding Ning selaku president divisi handset ZTE, untuk bersaing dengan Nokia, Samsung dan Huawei, perusahaannya berusaha menampilkan performa mengagumkan. Pengapalan ponsel diharapkan meningkat 30-40 persen dalam tiga tahun ke depan.

Perusahaan yang berkantor pusat di Shenzen, China ini mengapalkan 35 juta handset pada semester pertama tahun ini dalam targetnya mengapalkan 80 juta unit.

RIM shares down on BlackBerry revenue miss

For the current quarter, ending in May, RIM said it expects earnings of $1.47 to $1.55 per share, below the average analyst forecast at $1.65. Google delays open access to new Android software
